Single-Item Moves in Watford & Hertfordshire

One sofa. One bed. One fridge. One piano. We do single-item moves as a regular part of our work — across Watford, Hertfordshire and beyond — with the same blanket protection and the same insured crew as a full house move.

The single items we move most

How a single-item move works

  1. Tell us what, where and when. A photo of the item helps us judge size and access at the collection end. Knowing the destination floor (ground / first / second / lift) helps us price accurately.
  2. Fixed-price quote. Usually within a few hours. No "from" prices — what we quote is what you pay.
  3. Same-day or scheduled. Local Watford single-item moves can often be done same-day if a slot is free; longer-distance jobs we plan a day or two ahead.

What to expect on the day

Pricing — what to expect

If you're moving multiple items, we'll often quote a combined van-and-crew rate that works out cheaper than separate single-item moves. Tell us everything you need moved and we'll suggest the best way to do it.

Common questions about single-item moves

Do you charge a minimum call-out?

Effectively yes — even the smallest item involves a van, two people and at least an hour of work. That sits around the £60 mark for the smallest, simplest local jobs.

Can you move just one item to a second-floor flat with no lift?

Yes, with notice. Heavy items going up stairs add time and we'll factor that into the quote. Sofas and wardrobes can need disassembly to negotiate tight stairwells — our crews handle this routinely.

Will you take away the old item when you deliver a new one?

Yes — single-item swap-and-take-away is a regular request, often paired with a new-mattress or new-sofa delivery from a retailer. We can dispose of the old item or move it to charity / family. Tell us the plan when you quote.

Are you insured for a single item?

Yes — Goods in Transit cover applies to every item we move, whether it's one piece or a full house.

Can you collect from a store and deliver?

Yes — collect-and-deliver from John Lewis, IKEA, DFS and similar stores is a common request. We need the store's collection time slot and your delivery address; we'll fit it into the day's schedule.

One thing to move?

Send us a photo and the pickup / drop-off addresses and we'll give you a fixed price the same day.
