Who we are

Small Removal Company is a family-run removals business based in Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal information you share with us. You can contact us at [email protected] or on 07967 853226.

What we collect

We only collect information you give us directly. That's typically:

• Contact details — your name, email address and phone number when you submit our contact form, send us an email, or phone us.
• Move details — the addresses, dates and items involved in your enquiry, so we can give you an accurate quote.
• Any additional information you choose to share in the free-text message field of the contact form.

We do not run advertising trackers, analytics that profile individual visitors, or third-party cookies on this website. The site is statically hosted and the only third-party service it talks to during normal use is the contact-form provider (see "Third parties" below).

How we use it

We use the information you share only to:

• Reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
• Plan and run your move if you book us.
• Get in touch about your booking before, during and after the move.
• Keep simple business records as required by HMRC and our insurer.

We don't sell your information, share it with marketing companies, or use it to profile you. We don't send marketing emails — communication is limited to the specific enquiry or booking you've contacted us about.

Legal basis

Under UK GDPR we process your information on the basis of:

• Performance of a contract — when you've booked a move with us.
• Legitimate interests — when you've enquired and we're preparing a quote in response.
• Legal obligation — for record-keeping required by HMRC, our insurance policy or any regulatory body.

Third parties

Our website contact form is submitted via Web3Forms, a service that forwards form submissions to our email inbox. Your submission passes through their servers in order to reach us; they act as a processor on our behalf. We chose them specifically because they don't require us to share your data for any other purpose.

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and served via the Cloudflare CDN. Cloudflare may log standard server access information (IP address, browser user-agent, page accessed) for security and performance reasons. We do not receive these logs in identifiable form.

Linked third-party services (e.g. our Google Business Profile, Google Maps) have their own privacy policies. Clicking a link to them takes you out of our site.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for up to 12 months in case you come back to us, then deleted. Booking records (move date, address, invoice) are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask us what information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
• Ask us to delete what we hold, where we're not legally required to keep it.
• Object to how we're using your information.
• Withdraw any consent you've given.

Email [email protected] to make any of these requests and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data-protection regulator.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set technical cookies needed to serve the site (for example, to maintain a security session). If the contact form provider sets any cookies, they're limited to that interaction.

Children

Our services are aimed at adults arranging removals. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If a child has submitted their details, contact us and we'll delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy materially we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. The current version is always the one on this page.
